SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Orange men's soccer team (9-5-1, 2-5-1 ACC) hosts No. 12 Maryland (7-3-5, 4-1-3 ACC) in a pivotal conference matchup on Saturday, Oct. 26 at the SU Soccer Stadium. SU and the Terrapins kick off at 7 p.m.

FEATURED STRIKERS ON DISPLAY
The ACC's top two scorers will take the pitch Saturday night. Maryland's Patrick Mullins and SU's Emil Ekblom rank first and second, respectively, in the league in points and goals. Mullins leads the NCAA with 29 points and 12 goals, while Ekblom has 21 points and nine goals.

In consecutive games against NC State and Boston College earlier this season, Ekblom totaled 11 points on five goals and one assist. Ekblom posted SU's first hat trick since 2008 and set an SU Stadium record with seven points (three goals, one assist) against the Wolfpack.

Following his performance against NC State, he was named the Disney Soccer/NSCAA Division I Men's Player of the Week and the ECAC co-O?ensive Player of the Week. He also earned spots on the TopDrawerSoccer.com and College Soccer News National Teams of the Week.

Mullins was a 2012 MAC Hermann Trophy winner as national player of the year and earned NSCAA First Team All-America honors last season.

LAST TIME OUT
The Orange used two second-half goals to defeat Albany, 2-0, on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at Bob Ford Field. The victory capped an unbeaten (7-0) 2013 non-conference season for the Orange.

Juuso Pasanen scored in the 50th minute to give SU the lead, and Emil Ekblom added an insurance tally in the 59th minute. Alex Bono made three saves to record his ACC-leading seventh shutout of the year.

Syracuse improved to 5-1-1 all-time against Albany, including a 3-0-1 mark in the last four meetings.

SCOUTING THE TERRAPINS
Maryland has a 7-3-5 record, including a 4-1-3 mark in ACC play.

The Terps are second in the nation in goals (35) and are averaging 2.33 goals per game. In addition to Mullins' goal-scoring capability, he and Sunny Jane are tied for the team lead with five assists. Maryland goalkeeper Zack Steffen has started all 15 games. He has 49 saves and a 1.48 goals-against average.

Sasho Cirovski is in his 21st season at the helm in College Park. During his tenure, Cirovski has led the Terps to two national championships (2005, 2008), seven College Cup appearances, and five ACC titles.
