Murray Named BIG EAST Player of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Syracuse junior Alyssa Murray has been named the BIG EAST Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week. Murray led the Orange with eight points in its 18-7 victory against Connecticut in the league opener for both teams.
Murray scored five goals and dished out three assists against the Huskies. She had two goals and three assists in the first half, helping SU to a 7-0 halftime lead. Murray added three goals in the second half, and her final tally of the day gave the Orange its largest lead of the game at 16-1. In addition, she recorded two draw controls and one ground ball.
With her performance against the Huskies, Murray took over as the team's leading scorer with 26 points. She also leads the squad with 17 goals.
Murray and the Orange begin a stretch of four consecutive road games on Wednesday, Mar. 27 at Boston College. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
