CHA Championship CentralÂ
The Syracuse ice hockey (19-14-1, 13-6-1 CHA) travels to Mercyhurst for the CHA Tournament this weekend. As the #2 seed, the Orange will face #3 RIT (16-15-5, 7-8-5 CHA) on Friday, March 8th at 4:30 p.m. The championship game is set for 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 9th.   The Orange finished the regular season in second place, it's highest finish ever in program history.

Tournament Particulars
• Prior to SU's semifinal game against RIT, #1 Mercyhurst will play #4 Robert Morris at 1:30 p.m.Â
• The winners of the two semifinal games will face off in the championship game at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 9th.
• Mercyhurst captured its 11th straight regular-season title and plays RMU, who defeated Lindenwood, 2-1 in 3OT and 2-0 to advance.All three of Mercyhurst's conference losses this season have been to Robert Morris.

SU Finishes in Second Place
• The Orange clinched second place in the CHA, which granted them a bye weekend in the first round of the conference tournament.
• SU's second place finish was the highest in program history.
• in 2009-10 and 2010-11, SU finished in third place, while recording a fourth place finish in 2008-09 and 2011-12.
• Mercyhurst secured first place and home ice advantage for the CHA semifinals by sweeping the Orange this past weekend.
• SU had 27 points in the final standings.
• Robert Morris and RIT tied for third with 19 points apiece.
• In fifth place with 17 points was Lindenwood and in sixth was Penn State with 4 points.

A Career Milestone
• Head coach Paul Flanagan captured 300th career win with a 4-1 victory against Lindenwood on Wednesday, Feb. 27th.
• In his 14th season of coaching, and fifth at SU, Flanagan has a career record of 300-168-38.
• He is just the sixth active coach to reach the milestone in his career.
• At SU, Flanagan holds a record of 70-85-14 in his five seasons at SU.

A Special Senior Night
• On Jacquie Greco and Holly Carrie-Mattimoe's senior night, both seniors scored against Lindenwood.
• Carrie-Mattimoe's top shelf goal against the Lions snapped a 15-game scoreless streak for the senior.Â
• It was her first goal since the game against Clarkson on Dec. 8th. Between Dec. 8th and Feb 27th, Carrie-Mattimoe had notched eight assists.
• Carrie-Mattimoe leads all SU scoreres with 10 goals and 16 assists for 26 points.
• Greco scored in each game of the Lindenwood series, bringing her season total to 10 goals and two assists. Â

• Each game against the Tigers this season have been close. In their first series ever, RIT and SU tied, 2-2 and then the Orange won. 2-1 in overtime. Most recently, the Orange swept the Tigers, recording a 2-1 victory each night.Â
• RIT swept Penn State in the first round of the CHA tournament, defeating the Nittany Lions, 1-0 and 3-2 in overtime.
• Marissa Maugeri had the lone goal for RIT in Friday night's game.
• Kim Schlattman scored the game-winning overtime goal, 47 seconds into the extra frame, which secured RIT's spot in the semifinals.
• Goaltedner Ali Binnington has a 1.94 GAA and a save percentage of .926, while recording four shutouts this season.

• Akane Hosoyamada and Margot Scharfe scored for the Orange in a 2-1 win againt RIT at home.
• Kourtney Kunichika scored a power play goal at the end of the second frame to cut the Tiger's defecit to one.

• The Orange played two midweek games against Lindenwood, falling in OT, 2-1 on Tuesday and winning 4-1 on senior night.
• During both games, the Orange put forth strong offensive efforts, tallying 43 and 40 shots on net.
• Senior Jacquie Greco scored a goal in each of the wins.
• Holly Carrie-Mattimoe, Sadie St. Germain and Shiann Darkangelo all scored on Wednesday as well. Carrie-Mattimoe also registered an assist.
• On Tuesday night, Jenesica Drinkwater stood strong in net, recording 34 saves.
• On Wednesday, Kallie BIlladeau notched 24 saves in the win.

• Holly Carrie-Mattimoe leads SU with 26 points off of 10 goals and a team-high 16 assists. Nicole Ferrara has 24 points after scoring 10 goals and 14 assists.
• Shiann Darkangelo has a team-high 15 goals for SU. Both Darkangleo and Ferrara have a team-high 4 game-winning goals a piece.
• Five Orange have 10 or more goals, while eight have assists in double-digits. Carrie-Mattimoe, Ferrara and Margot Scharfe have double-digits in both categories. Scharfe has 11 strikes and 11 helpers.
• The Orange have scored four shorthand goals so far this season, which leads the CHA
• Margot Scharfe has scored a team-high five power play goals for SU.

• SU lost to Lindenwood, 2-1, in overtime at home.
• The Orange went into overtime for the first time this season, falling to Quinnipiac 3-2 at home.
