Orange Duo Earns BIG EAST Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Syracuse junior Alyssa Murray and senior Becca Block received BIG EAST honors after their performances against Boston College and Northwestern.
Murray was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week for the second week in a row. The junior posted 10 points, three draw controls and a ground ball in the last two games. Against Boston College, she recorded two goals and three assists in the Orange's 17-12 victory. Murray scored a team-best five goals against No. 4 Northwestern in a 13-12 loss. Murray's 10 points moved her into sixth place on Syracuse's all-time scoring list with a career total of 184 points.
Block was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll for the second time this season. She registered three caused turnovers, two ground balls and two draw controls against Boston College. The senior defender tied her career high with six draw controls and tallied two ground balls versus Northwestern.
The Orange continues its four-game road trip as Syracuse travels to Pennsylvania to face Villanova on Friday, April 5 at 4 p.m.
