Orange Moving Up in National Statistics

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Syracuse ranks in the top 10 in five categories in the latest NCAA women's lacrosse statistics released this week. The Orange features the sixth-highest scoring offense in the country, averaging 15.0 goals per game.
Syracuse has amassed 362 points this season, which rank seventh in the country. In addition, SU is fourth in draw controls (14.65 per game) and eighth in scoring margin (6.35) and winning percentage (.824). The Orange's defense has held its opponents to less than 10 goals in nine consecutive games and ranks 16th in the country with an 8.65 goals-against average.
Individually, junior Alyssa Murray is sixth in the national rankings in points (83) and ninth in points per game (4.88). In addition, her 51 goals rank 16th in the country. Sophomore Kelsey Richardson has lowered her goals-against average to 7.27, which is the fourth-lowest total in the nation.
The 2013 BIG EAST regular-season champion Orange begins play in the conference tournament on Thursday, May 2 at 5:30 p.m. Syracuse takes on Connecticut in the first semifinal.
