• The Sagarin/CBN Ratings have SU 17th with the No. 6 strength-of-schedule in the country.

• ...be its first five-game ACC winning streak.
• ...tie for the fourth-highest ranked opponent SU has ever beaten.
• ...its third win over a ranked opponent this season.
• ...make SU 1-3 all-time against Maryland and 1-0 vs. the Terrpains at the Carrier Dome.
Â
SERIES HISTORY
• The Orange is 0-3 all-time against Maryland with the most recent meeting being just two weeks ago. Maryland is one of two ACC teams SU plays twice this season (Pittsburgh being the other).
• On Jan. 16, Brianna Butler scored 14 points and freshman Alexis Peterson scored 10 of career-high 12 points in the second half, but Syracuse came up short at No. 6 Maryland, 77-62, at the Comcast Center. Maryland was led by 19 points and 11 rebounds by Alyssa Thomas.
• The last meeting previous to this season was 30 years ago when UM defeated SU, 74-49, on Jan. 11, 1984 at Cole Field House. Two years earlier, on Jan. 16, 1982, the Terps won, 69-57, in the Orange Plus Classic at Manley Field House.
IN THE POLLS
• Syracuse is receiving votes this week in both the Associated Press and USA TODAY coaches polls. It was previously ranked for five straight weeks in the AP poll and a total of three weeks in the coaches poll this season.
• The Orange was ranked an all-time program high 20th in the Dec. 23 and Dec. 30 AP polls. It was as high as No. 23 in the coaches poll four weeks ago.
• The Orange debuted in the AP poll on Dec. 2 at No. 22 and was ranked for four-straight weeks.
Â
LAST TIME OUT
• Brianna Butler scored 17 of her game-high 22 points in the second half as Syracuse came back from an 18-point deficit to upset No. 6 North Carolina (17-4, 5-2 ACC), 78-73, on Thursday night at Carmichael Arena.
• Down 18 with 18:40 left, the Orange took over, outscoring the home team 46-23 over the duration of the game behind 47.1 percent second-half shooting, including 6-of-10 from 3-point range, while holding the Tar Heels to 31.2 percent shooting in the second stanza.
• Brittney Sykes added 17 points, while Briana Day had 11 points, nine rebounds, four steals and two blocks.
• The only higher ranked team Syracuse has ever defeated were No. 2 Connecticut, 62-59, on Jan. 2, 1996 at Manley Field House. It matches the Orange's 75-66 win over No. 6 Ohio State on Dec. 11, 2010 at the Carrier Dome as the highest ranked team beaten in head coach Quentin Hillsman's tenure.
Â
WINS VS. RANKED TEAMS
• Syracuse's come-from-behind 78-73 upset win at No. 6 North Carolina on Thursday is the highest ranked road win in program history and is tied for second overall.
• SU's 15-point win over the No. 12/11 Texas A&M on Nov. 30 is the fifth-highest ranked opponent the Orange has ever beaten.
• Four of the top five ranked teams SU has ever beaten have come in Quentin Hillsman's tenure as head coach.
Â
DOME SWEET DOME
• All-time, the Orange has a record of 99-45 (.688) in the Carrier Dome.
• SU has a record of 86-33 (.723) in 119 games in the Carrier Dome since moving there full-time in 2006-07, including a 10-1 mark this season as it has outscored its opponents by an average of 22.1 ppg (82.7-60.6).
• SU went 13-1 at home last season, tied for its best home winning percentage in program history. The Orange also went 13-1 in 1987-88.
Â
MASTER THIEVES
• With an aggressive fullcourt press and trapping defense, the Orange boasts the best turnover margin in the ACC (20th nationally) at +5.2 and has produced an average of 22.6 points per game this season off its opponents' 20.1 turnovers per game.
• In its last three games, SU scored 26 points off 22 turnovers vs. Clemson, 24 off 15 vs. Virginia, and 21 off 29 UNC turnovers.
• Syracuse scored 53 points off 31 turnovers in its 113-42 win vs. Maryland Eastern Shore. SU totaled 18 steals by nine different players.
Â
TAKING CARE OF THE BALL
• Also aiding the ACC-best turnover margin is the fact that Syracuse has turned the ball over the tied-for-fifth-fewest times in the ACC at 14.9 per game.
• SU surrenders just 14.7 ppg off its turnovers, resulting in a +7.9 margin in points per game off turnovers.
• Brianna Butler boasts the best assist-to-turnover ratio on the team (and second in the ACC if she qualified) at 58-to-25 (2.32).
