CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- No. 2/3 Syracuse opens ACC play on Sunday, Feb. 23 on the road against No. 9/13 Virginia. The game is slated to begin at 1 p.m. in Charlottesville, Va.

What to Watch For – Syracuse (3-0)
1. The Orange has started its season on an offensive roll, defeating Jacksonville, 21-7, Stetson 25-0 and Canisius, 18-6. The team is averaging 21.33 goals per game.
2. The number 171 has been special for the Orange this past week as junior Kailah Kempney (Carthage, N.Y.) moved into second place on SU's career leader list for draw controls, winning her 171st against Canisius. In addition, senior Alyssa Murray (West Babylon, N.Y.) scored her 171st goal to tie for fourth place on the school's all-time goals scored list.
3. Freshman standout Taylor Poplawski (Lafayette, N.Y.) tallied a career-high four goals against Canisius and has scored at least one goal in all three games this season.
What to Watch For—Virginia (1-2)
1. The Cavaliers are coming off an 18-9 victory against Richmond after losing its first two games of the season.
2. Junior Courtney Swan leads the team with 14 points (11g, 3a) and has a team-high 14 draw controls. Swan scored five times in Virginia's lone win.
3. Julie Myers is in her 19th season at the helm of the Virginia program. She has guided her team to the NCAA Tournament in each of her 18 campaigns as the Cavaliers' head coach.
THE SERIES
Although it is Syracuse's inaugural year in the ACC, Virginia is a familiar foe for the Orange. The Cavaliers lead the all-time series, 11-4. Syracuse won last year's contest, 10-9, in the Carrier Dome to snap an eight-game losing streak to the Virginia.
