CLEMSON, S.C.—The Syracuse track and field team finished two days of competition at the ACC Indoor Championship, hosted by Clemson, this Friday. With one day to go, the men's team is in 10th place with six points and the women's team is in seventh place with 11 points.

Sarah Pagano scored five points for the team in the 5,000-meter run, taking fourth overall with a time of 16:14.81. Margo Malone also added to the team score in the event, finishing in seventh overall for two points in 16:24.42.

Martin Hehir matched Pagano performance in the men's race, taking fourth place for five points in 14:07.39.

Starting things off on Friday in the women's mile competition, freshman Sydney Leiher captured fourth place overall in the preliminary competition to become one of 10 to advance to the finals. Leiher finished in 4:45.82, a personal best by nearly five seconds, and will race for points tomorrow at 12:20 p.m.

Joel Hubbard finished strong down the stretch to win his heat and earn a spot in the men's mile finals on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. Hubbard finished the race in 4:11.72, beating the second-place runner by more than a second after trailing two runners going into the final 200 meters.

Donald Pollitt won his heat in the 60-meter hurdles to advance to the finals on Saturday at 12:10 p.m. Pollitt finished in a conservative 7.83 seconds with freshman Freddie Crittenden nipping at his heels and finishing in second in the heat with a time of 7.84 seconds, a personal best that qualified him for the final race.

Shaina Harrison led the Orange women in the 60-meter dash, finishing third overall and winning her heat with a time of 7.49 seconds to move on to the finals on Saturday at 1 p.m. Sabrina Cammock missed qualifying by less than two hundredths of a second, running her heat in 7.58 seconds.

Jaquan Holland ran in both the 60-meter and 200-meter dash, but only advanced in the 60-meter event, finishing with a time of 6.80 seconds, which ranked sixth overall and matched his personal record.
Syracuse competed in the distance medley relay on Thursday night, with the women's group taking fifth place (11:25.25) for four points and the men's team capturing one point with its eighth place finish (9:59.81).
