SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- After four straight weeks on the road No. 10 Syracuse (4-3, 0-3 ACC) returns to the Carrier Dome for its to host fellow ACC newcomer No. 7 Notre Dame (4-2, 2-0 ACC) Saturday, March 29 at 12 p.m. on ESPNU. The Orange has won two of its last three games, but is still searching for its first win in the ACC. Notre Dame has won two in a row and sits atop the ACC standings. The Irish posted a 13-7 victory at Ohio State earlier this week.
RANDY LUNDBLAD REMEMBERED
Prior to Saturday's game there will be a moment of silence for former Syracuse lacrosse player Randy Lundblad, who died on March 4, 2014 after a battle with cancer. He was 51 years old.
   Â
A two-time All-American attackman, Lundblad played for the Orange from 1981-84. He is perhaps best known for scoring the game-winning goal against Johns Hopkins in the 1983 national championship game to secure Syracuse's first NCAA title.
A WIN AGAINST NOTRE DAME WOULD …
… Be the program's 851st victory, second all-time behind Hopkins (938).
… Improve SU's record to 90-23 since the start of the 2008 season.
… Be John Desko's 192nd career coaching win.
… Extend SU's winning streak against the Irish to three games.
… Make the Orange 3-0 all-time against Notre Dame at the Carrier Dome.
… Represent Syracuse's first ACC victory.
… Mark Syracuse's fourth win this year against a ranked opponent.
TEN BELOW
Syracuse has a 16-game winning streak when it holds its opponent to fewer than 10 goals. The Orange is 2-0 this season under that scenario with wins against Siena and St. John's. The last time Syracuse failed to win when keeping its foe to single digits was on April 28, 2014 at Notre Dame. The Irish beat the Orange, 8-6, that day.
DYLAN DONAHUE STREAKING
Attackman Dylan Donahue has point in 14 straight games dating back to last year's regular-season meeting with Notre Dame on April 27, 2013. Donahue has 48 points (31 goals, 17 assists) over that span and he is averaging 3.4 points per game during the streak.
SCOUTING NOTRE DAME
Sophomore Matt Kavanagh is the key to the Irish offense. He leads the club in goals (20), assists (11) and points (31). Against Ohio State Tuesday, Kavanagh tied with the school record with seven goals to power Notre Dame to a 13-7 win against the Buckeyes. Senior John Scioscia (eight goals, two assists) and junior Conor Doyle (nine goals, four assists) are Notre Dame's other double-digit scorers.
Faceoff specialist Liam O'Connor (90-131, .687) is second in the nation in faceoff winning percentage. O'Connor was recently added to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List for his performance in the first half of the season.
   Â
Shane Doss has taken over for Conor Kelly as the team's starting goaltender. Doss is 3-1 with a 33 saves and an 8.53 goals-against average. Meanwhile, Stephen O'Hara (nine ground balls, seven caused turnovers) anchors Notre Dame's close defense. O'Hara was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Week back on March 18 after the Irish beat Virginia.
   Â
Head coach Kevin Corrigan is in his 26th season at Notre Dame and owns a 245-116 (.679) record with the Irish. Overall, he is 255-131 (.661) in 28 seasons as a college head coach. Corrigan ranks ninth among active Division I coaches in winning percentage and sixth in victories. He's guided the Irish to the Final Four twice in the last four years.
THE NOTRE DAME SERIES
SU is 7-1 all-time against Notre Dame, including a pair of victories against the Irish last season. Syracuse won the first five games in the series before Notre Dame ended the Orange's reign with an 8-6 win at Arlotta Stadium in 2012.
Overall, Syracuse is 2-0 versus Notre Dame at the Carrier Dome, including an 11-8 triumph in 2011 when the Irish were ranked No. 1.
