No. 2 Syracuse takes on No. 3 Maryland on Monday in the Carrier Dome.
Syracuse held steady at No. 2 in this week's Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) poll and No. 3 in the Brine media poll. The Orange is in the midst of a seven-game homestand that will feature contests against three teams ranked in the top five and another ranked in the top 10.
"It will be a great test to see how we stack up against some of the top teams," said Syracuse head coach Gary Gait. "And it's a chance for the local community to see some of the best lacrosse in the country."
Syracuse (6-0, 2-0) will be back in action on Monday, March 10 against No. 3/2 Maryland (6-0, 1-0) at 7 p.m. in the Carrier Dome. The teams met last season in the national semifinals. The Orange trailed by three with 25:34 remaining before sophomore Kayla Treanor and senior Katie Webster combined for four straight goals to give Syracuse a 10-9 advantage with 18:31 on the clock. The Terrapins recorded the final two goals of the game to post the 11-10 victory and advance to the national championship game.
No. 5/5 Florida will make its second trip to the Dome on Saturday, March 15 at noon. The two squads also met in last year's NCAA Tournament as the Orange defeated the Gators, 13-9, in the quarterfinals. The teams were tied, 4-4, at halftime, but Treanor netted the first two goals of the second half, sparking SU on a 7-2 scoring run that gave it an 11-6 lead. Florida netted three of the game's next four goals, but junior Kailah Kempney found the back of the net with 1:26 remaining to seal the victory and Syracuse's spot in the Final Four for the second consecutive season.
Syracuse and No. 4/4 Northwestern renew their rivalry on Sunday, March 23 at 1 p.m. Last year's game in Evanston featured eight ties as the Orange couldn't hold on to a second-half lead in a 13-12 setback to the Wildcats. It was a rematch of the 2012 national championship game which Northwestern won, 8-6.
No. 6/6 Duke will take on the Orange for the first time on Saturday, March 29 at 3 p.m. The game is part of a doubleheader with the Syracuse men's team.
Individual game tickets for all Syracuse home games can be purchased for $5. Fans can purchase a "Lax Pack" ticket package for $25, which includes 10 general admission tickets that can be used as a season ticket or as a group ticket package.
