Orange Strengthens Its Hold on No. 1 Spot in Coaches Poll

Syracuse earns addition first-place votes in this week's rankings.
Syracuse is No.1 in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) poll for the second consecutive week. The Orange received 220 first-place votes, 40 more than last week, and 391 points. Syracuse remains No. 2 in the Brine media poll. The Orange earned a share of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) regular-season title and enters this week's league tournament with a 15-1 record.
The Orange earned three more points in the coaches poll than second-ranked Maryland. The Terrapins had 180 first-place votes and 388 points. Florida is No. 3, followedy by North Carolina and Northwestern. ACC foes Boston College (No. 6) and Duke (No. 7) also rank in the top 10.
Maryland is No. 1 in the Brine media poll. The Terrapins received seven first-place votes and 197 points. The Orange is right behind with three first-place nods and 193 points. The top five also includes Florida, North Carolina and Boston College.
