'Cuse Captures 14 PRs In Three Meets

Florida Relay Results | Stanford Invitational Results | Sam Howell Invitational Results
The Syracuse track and field team tallied 14 PRs this weekend, competing in three meets from coast to coast. The sprinters traveled south to take on the Florida Relays while the distance runners split into two groups, travelling west to the Stanford Invitational and down to New Jersey for the Sam Howell Invitational, hosted by Princeton.
Sabrina Cammock, Bria Goodson, Rebecca Robinson and Shaina Harrison finished the 4x100 meter relay in 45.46 seconds, just shy of its school record mark set last weekend at the Yellow Jacket Invitational. Harrison also set a personal record in the 100-meter dash, sprinting to a 11.56 second finish, just 0.07 seconds slower than Syracuse's best-ever mark.
The Orange men had an excellent showing in the 110-meter hurdles with Donald Pollitt leading the way with a seventh place finish out of 50 competitors, taking a time of 13.76 seconds, his best mark of the season. Freddie Crittenden and Darren McCluskey each set personal bests in the event, finishing in 13.96 and 14.52 seconds, respectively. McCluskey's time bested his previous personal standard by 0.15 seconds.
MJ Erb had an impressive showing at the Stanford Invitational, taking first in his section and sixth overall in the 3000-meter steeplechase in a personal best time of 8:50.01. Martin Hehir ran one of the top times in the NCAA East in the 5,000-meter run, finishing in 13:50.88 for his best ever mark and just four seconds shy of the school record.
Max Straneva, Daniel Lennon and Andrew Palmer also set personal standards in the 5,000-meter run at Stanford with times of 14:00.45, 14:12.23 and 14:08.32, respectively. Kevyn Hoyos ran a PR at the Princeton Invitational in the same event, taking fifth overall in 14:23.08.
On the women's side, Sarah Pagano ran her best-ever 5,000-meter race, finishing with a time of 15:48.87, her first-ever sub-16 minute time. Margo Malone also had a PR, finishing with a time of 16:21.51.
Both Syracuse men in the 10,000-meter run at the Stanford Invitational set personal records with Reed Kamyszek finishing in 29:08.84 and Juris Silenieks in 30:26.24.
Elizabeth Reynolds set her best career mark at the Princeton invitational in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:17.75.
The Orange takes next weekend off in preparation for the Atlantic Coast Conference Outdoor Championships, beginning on Thursday, April 17.
