SU Heads to Cornell, Stanford

SYRACUSE, N.Y.—The Orange track and field team splits up for two meets this weekend, with members of the squad traveling to California for the Payton Jordan Invitational, hosted by Stanford, and the rest heading to the Cornell Outdoor Invitational. The two-day Cornell meet begins on Friday, May 2 and the Payton Jordan Invitational will be held on Sunday, May 4.
Last weekend the sprinters headed to the Penn Relays and members of the distance group competed at the Cornell Big Red Invitational. Ten Orange set personal records and five ran to first-place finishes. Paul Lovell and Molly Malone won the 800-meter races at the Big Red Invitational while Joel Hubbard won the 1,500-meter run. Angelica Peck won the 3,000-meter run and Jaquan Holland rounded out gold medalists with a win in the 200-meter dash.
The Orange did not compete in either of these races last season.
