Junior guard will miss the remainder of the season
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Junior guard Brittney Sykes of the Syracuse University women's basketball team will miss the remainder of the 2014-15 season after sustaining an injury to her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in her right knee.
Â
Sykes was injured in the first half of the team's game against Notre Dame on Jan. 4. Including the contest against the Fighting Irish, she had played and started in three games during the 2014-15 season.
Â
"It was an unfortunate injury," head coach Quentin Hillsman said. "I am confident Brittney is going to do everything she can to return to the court at 100 percent. She will have the complete support of every person in this program in that process."
