Tennis Travels To Harvard Invitational

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- The Syracuse women's tennis team will participate in its final fall team tournament this weekend when the Orange heads to Harvard for the Harvard Invitational starting Friday, Nov. 6.

The Orange is coming off a successful tournament at the ITA Northeast Regionals, as the team had three players finish in the final four among 115 players. Graduate student Anna Shkudun defeated junior Valeria Salazar to advance to the ITA National Indoor Championship that will take place on Thursday, Nov. 12 in New York, N.Y.

Shkudun and Salazar also teamed up in the doubles tournament at the ITA Northeast Regionals, making it all the way to the championship round before losing to a duo from Dartmouth. Both Shkudun and Salazar will sit out the invitational.

The Harvard Invitational runs from Nov. 6-8 and the round robin will include Syracuse, Boston University, Pittsburgh and Harvard. The invitational will be broadcast on the Ivy League Digital Network.

Junior Olivia Messineo, sophomore Nicole Mitchell and freshmen classmates Gabriela Knutson, Maria Tritou and Libi Mesh will be participating in the invitational.
