SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The RV/RV Syracuse University women's basketball will play for the second time in as many days when it hosts Howard on Wednesday night in the Carrier Dome. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased online, by phone at 1-888-DOMETIX, or by visiting the Carrier Dome box office (Gate B) during normal business hours. The box office will open three hours prior to tipoff against Howard.

In its last game, Syracuse defeated Drexel, 82-62, on Dec. 29 in the Carrier Dome. The Orange outscored its opposition by 34 points over the final three quarters of play. Junior center Briana Day tallied a career-best 26 points on the night.

Howard enters Wednesday night's contest with a 2-11 overall mark. The Bison are currently on a two-game losing skid. In its last game, Howard suffered a 70-47 setback at Xavier on Dec. 19.

Frontcourt Force
Junior center Briana Day picked up right where she left off last year in the first game of the 2015-16 season. She was one rebound shy of her 17th double-double of her collegiate career, tallying 14 points and nine boards at Rhode Island on Nov. 13.

Day had a career night against Drexel on Dec. 29. The junior center scored a personal-best 26 points and pulled down 13 rebounds for her 17th double-double of her collegiate career. Day set career-highs in points, field goals made (9), fields goals attempted (14), and free throws made (8).

Against Stony Brook on Dec. 6, Day put together 15 points, seven rebounds, and five blocked shots. The junior center was two blocks shy of matching her career-best.

The Raleigh, N.C. native shattered the Syracuse single-season rebounding record. Day recorded 322 rebounds on the 2014-15 season, 21 more than Martha Mogish in 1980-81. Mogish also recorded 301 boards in three more games.

Last Time Out
Down 15 points with 35 seconds remaining in the first quarter, Syracuse outscored its opposition by 36 points over the remainder of the contest to score a 83-62 victory against Drexel on Dec. 29.

Drexel led, 22-7, with less than a minute remaining in the opening frame. Syracuse used a 30-9 run to overtake the opposition for good. In that stretch, senior guard Brianna Butler knocked down three 3-point field goals to move into ninth place on the SU all-time scoring list. She has scored 1,286 points in her collegiate career.

The Dragons attempted to mount a comeback late in the game, but the Orange used a late run to put them away. Leading by five points with 8:53 remaining in regulation, the club would close the contest on an 18-2 run en route to its eighth victory of the 2015-16 season.
