SYRACUSE, N.Y.-Â The Syracuse women's ice hockey team will look to hand undefeated No. 2 Boston College its first loss of the season on Thursday at 4 p.m. at Tennity Ice Pavilion.Â
The Orange (8-9-2) are unbeaten in its last three contests while Boston College (19-0-0) has not lost a game since last year's final four.Â
"We are excited about this ACC challenge. We told the kids to embrace this opportunity to play a team that is rolling like Boston College is," head coach Paul Flanagan said. "They have some outstanding players, but hopefully we can catch them. We played them great two years ago and beat them 4-1. It wasn't a fluke so our veterans know that we are capable."
Syracuse is coming off a 1-0-1 weekend against College Hockey America foe Penn State where the Orange defeated the Nittany Lions 3-1 on Friday night before picking up a point with a 1-1 tie on Saturday. The Eagles handily defeated Maine in their last HEA series, combining for 12 goals compared to allowing just two.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
With a perfect 19-0-0 record, Boston College is currently the top ranked team in the country according to the RPI. The Eagles are ranked second only to Wisconsin according to USCHO.com, PairWise Rankings and KRACH.

Boston College hasn't lost since the final four of last season, when they fell to Harvard by a score of 2-1. Harvard then lost in the final to top ranked Minnesota, 4-1.
