SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Orange couldn't keep up with the Fighting Irish as it fell, 12-0 on Sunday afternoon at Melissa Cook Stadium. The series was its final conference road trip of the season. Syracuse's final conference test is set for Saturday and Sunday, April 25 and 26 against Virginia.

Notre Dame Stays Too Hot In Day Two
After a scoreless first inning, Notre Dame exploded for five runs in the second and third inning. The second inning was a combination of hits and base running for the Fighting Irish as the first run came on a throwing error in a rundown to allow a runner to score from third. Notre Dame then scored four more runs on two singles and a double to take a 5-0 lead after two.

The bats stayed hot in the third as a single and two doubles drove in five runs to double the lead. The Fighting Irish weren't done in the fourth, launching a homer to straightaway center, extending the lead two 12. With the run rule in effect, Syracuse couldn't string together an answer in the fifth, falling 12-0.Â

- Corinne Ozanne singled twice in two at-bats and was the relay throw to gun down a runner trying to score.
- Sammy Fernandez recorded her first career triple. It was her sole hit in two at-bats. She now has seven hits in her last 12 at-bats.
