The Pride owns the 25th best RPI in the country
HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Tuesday afternoon the Orange (17-25) will take its final road trip to Hempstead, N.Y., to take on Hofstra (25-11-1) at 3:00 p.m., in its newly named Bill Edwards Stadium. The Pride will be one of Syracuse's toughest non-conference tests this season.
Scouting The Pride
Hofstra has stumbled of late, splitting its last four games with one of its losses being one-of-three falters within the CAA. Nevertheless, defeating The Pride is no easy task. With four hitters hitting .301 or better, the lineup as a whole combines for a .288 batting average with Caryn Baily leading the way with a .402 batting average and nine home runs.
The Pride rolls out two lights out pitchers in Morgan Lashley and Taylor Pirone. Lashley leads the two in starts (22), wins (14), earned run average (1.91) and strikeouts (132) while Pirone has 11 wins in 15 starts and 26 appearances and a 2.09 ERA. Combined, the two have thrown 10 shutouts, with seven of them credited to Lashley. Pirone has been credited with three saves this season.
