The Senior has the nation's top-10k time thus far

Senior Martin Hehir earned ACC co-Runner of the Week on Tuesday after his performance in the 10,000-meter run on Friday at the Stanford Invitational.

Hehir posted the best collegiate time of the young 2015 outdoor season and set a school record during a second place finish to Nike's Juan Luis Barrios.

The Washingtonville, N.Y. native completed the event in 28:27.70, 15 seconds faster than the program record which had stood for nearly 30 years.

Hehir has a long list of accomplishments this season after he previously was an All-American in indoor track this season after finishing seventh in the 3000-meters at the NCAA Championships in March. He also won an ACC Championship in the 5k and earned ACC co-Meet MVP.

This was on the heels of an All-American cross country season and an ACC Individual Championship that earned him ACC Performer of the Year.

The track team continues its outdoor slate on Saturday at the Miami Hurricane Alumni Invitational.
