
Seven Rowers Earn All-ACC Academic Honors

Seven selections ranks third among ACC schools
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Seven members of the 2015 Syracuse University women's rowing team were bestowed with 2015 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Team honors, the conference announced on June 29. Syracuse had the third-most selections by a single school in the league.

Seniors Chelsea Frawley, Caroline Habjan, Georgia Hamilton, Amy Ludovici, juniors Deirdre Fitzpatrick, Kari Tomeny, and sophomore Ailish Tinney all earned All-ACC Academic Team accolades. All seven student athletes collected Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) National Scholar-Athlete honors. It marked the second straight season Frawley, Habjan, and Hamilton were recognized by the conference in their collegiate careers, as well.

Frawley was named to the All-ACC Second Team following the conference championship in May. The Melbourne, Australia native also earned the team's 'Cuse Award for the 2015 season. In addition, she earned CRCA National Scholar-Athlete honors for the second year in-a-row.

Habjan joined Frawley in the Orange's top boat, the first varsity eight crew, as a senior in 2015. The New Milford, Conn. product earned CRCA National Scholar-Athlete accolades for third time in her collegiate career, as well.

Hamilton concluded a spectacular career in 2015. An All-American in 2014, Hamilton picked up CRCA All-Region 3 Second Team honors as a senior. A member of the first varsity eight boat, the Mississauga, Ontario native earned CRCA National Scholar-Athlete recognition for the second time in her career in 2015.

Ludovici was a part of the first varsity eight boat in every race during her final collegiate season. The Binghamton, N.Y. product joined Habjan as the only members of the Orange program to earn their third CRCA National Scholar-Athlete honor in 2015.

Fitzpatrick was the most decorated rower on the Syracuse program in 2015. The Chesire, Conn. native was named to the All-ACC First Team, CRCA All-Region 3 First Team, and Division I Pocock All-America Second Team. She became the eighth member of the Syracuse program to earn All-America honors in history.

Tomeny joined Fitzpatrick as the only juniors to hold a spot in the first varsity eight boat in 2015. The Baldwinsville, N.Y. product was recognized with her first CRCA National Scholar-Athlete award following the season.

Tinney was the lone sophomore on the All-ACC Academic Team. The Sydney, Australia native raced in the second varsity eight boat all season and earned her first CRCA National Scholar-Athlete honor in 2015.

To be nominated for the All-ACC Academic team, student-athletes must have recorded a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average in the spring semester and have maintained a 3.0 career GPA at their respective schools.
