
'Cuse Fall Sports Engaging Community with Game Promotions

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The 2015 seasons are underway and Syracuse fans are invited to help the Orange field hockey, men's and women's soccer and volleyball squads honor special members of the local community.
Syracuse will host Military and First Responders Appreciation Day at four games this season, starting with the field hockey's game against Massachusetts on Sept. 6 at Coyne Field. Military and First Responder's Appreciation games for men's and women's soccer will be held on the following Friday, September 11 at the SU Soccer Stadium. The doubleheader starts with the women taking on Cornell at 3:30 p.m. before the men face Louisville in its ACC opener of the season at 7 p.m. Volleyball will honor military personnel and first responders on Sunday, Nov. 1 when it hosts Clemson.
Local Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops will be special guests of the Orange this season. Women's soccer will host its Girl Scout Day on Sunday, Sept. 13 when it takes on Colgate at 3 p.m. Men's soccer will host Boy Scout troops on Tuesday, Sept. 22 for a contest against Central New York foe Binghamton at 7 p.m. Field hockey will honor the Girl Scouts on Sunday, Sept. 27 when it hosts Boston University at 2 p.m., while volleyball will hold Girl Scout Day on Sunday, Oct. 11 when it hosts Virginia Tech at 1 p.m.
Syracuse will also be hosting 'Pink Games' in honor of breast cancer awareness. Volleyball's 'Pink Game' is against Pittsburgh (Oct. 9, 7 p.m.), while field hockey's 'Pink Game' is against Wake Forest (Oct. 17). 'Pink Games' are also scheduled for women's soccer on Oct. 18 against North Carolina State and men's soccer on Oct. 20 against Harvard.
