Syracuse places fourth in championship four event
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Syracuse women's rowing team wrapped up its stay at the Head of the Charles on Sunday afternoon. Syracuse placed fourth in the championship four on Sunday, its second-best showing at the world's largest two-day regatta.
Following a strong effort on Saturday, the Orange competed in the championship four and eight events on Sunday on the Charles River.
Syracuse finished in fourth place in the championship four, second among American colleges. The crew covered the course in 19:28.421, less than four seconds behind second-place Brown.
In the championship eight, the Orange finished in 17th place, recording a time of 17:51.197. It marked the second straight year that the team competed in the event. Last year marked the first time Syracuse had raced in the championship eight since 2006.
The Orange will conclude their fall campaign at Ohio State on Sunday, Nov. 6.
