No. 3 Orange's Road Swing Starts Tuesday at Albany

ALBANY, N.Y. – No. 3 Syracuse will play four of its next five matches on the road, starting Tuesday, Oct. 4 at Albany. Game time is set for 7 p.m.

ORANGE REMAIN NO. 5 IN RPI
For the second consecutive week, Syracuse is No. 5 in the RPI released on Monday. The Orange are coming off a 0-0 tie against North Carolina, which is No. 4 in the RPI. Syracuse is now 8-1-1 this season, including a 2-1-1 mark in ACC play. The conference has the top five teams in the RPI, including No. 1 Notre Dame, No. 2 Clemson and No. 3 Louisville. The Orange will take on the Cardinals in Louisville on Friday.

SCOUTING THE GREAT DANES
Albany is also coming off a 0-0 tie last weekend. The Great Danes played to the draw at Hartford. Albany enters Tuesday's match with a 4-3-2 overall record and 2-0-1 mark in the America East.

Junior Afonso Pinheiro is Albany's leading scorer this season with 11 points on a team-best five goals and an assist. He is also the Great Danes' all-time leader in points and goals. Danny Vitiello has started seven games this season in goal for Albany and has a 1.21 goals-against average and .743 save percentage. Lucas Vallilo has started the other two matches and has posted a 3.00 goals-against average and a .500 save percentage.

THE SERIES
Syracuse leads the all-time series with Albany, 7-1-1. The teams have met the last four seasons with the Orange coming out on top in each of those matches. Last season, the Great Danes visited the SU Soccer Stadium on October 6. Chris Nanco (Brampton, Ontario) scored in the 14th minute to give the Orange the lead, but Albany tied the score in the 44th minute. Syracuse took the lead for good on Ben Polk's goal in the 78th minute for the 2-1 victory.
