LOUISVILLE, Ky. – No. 3 Syracuse will take on its third top 10-ranked opponent in its last four matches when it faces No. 8 Louisville. Opening kick at Lynn Stadium is set for 7 p.m. The Cardinals currently lead the ACC's Atlantic Division with a 3-0-1 league mark, while the Orange are in third place with a 2-1-1 record in conference action.

ORANGE AGAINST RANKED OPPONENTS
Syracuse will take on an opponent that is ranked in the top 10 for the third time in its last four matches. The Orange lost, 2-1, on a goal in the 89th minute at No. 2 Notre Dame on Sept. 23 before tying No. 4 North Carolina, 0-0, on Sept. 30. Syracuse enters Friday's match with an 8-2-1 overall record, which includes a 1-1-1 mark against ranked opponents.

SCOUTING THE CARDINALS
Louisville defeated Belmont, 6-0, on Tuesday to extend its unbeaten streak to seven. The Cardinals are 8-1-2 overall and sit atop the standings in the ACC Atlantic Division with a 3-0-1 league record.

Mohamed Thiaw leads a high-powered Louisville offense, which has posted six goals in two of its last three matches. Thiaw is second in the ACC in points (17) and tied for second in goals (8). In addition, Tim Kubel leads the league with seven assists. Stefan Cleveland has played every minute in goals for the Cardinals this season. He has a 0.35 goals-against average and a .852 save percentage.

THE SERIES
Syracuse and Louisville will meet for the 12th time on Friday night. The Cardinals own a 7-2-2 advantage in the series.

Last season, the squads met at the SU Soccer Stadium. Oyvind Alseth gave Syracuse an early lead, scoring on an assist from Julian Buescher in the eighth minute. The Cardinals evened the score in the 44th minute when Daniel Johnson scored off a corner kick on what was Louisville's only shot on goal in the match. The game ended in a 1-1 tie, snapping UofL's three-game winning streak against the Orange.
