NEW YORK – No. 22/24 Syracuse will take on former BIG EAST foe Connecticut on Monday, Dec. 5 in the Tire Pros Classic. Tip off at Madison Square Garden is set for 7 p.m.
Fans can watch the game on ESPN2 and ESPN3. A live broadcast will also be available on the Syracuse IMG Radio Network.
FOR STARTERS
- Syracuse returns to Madison Square Garden for the 35th consecutive season. The Orange are 94-76 all-time in the facility.
- Andrew White III scored a season-high 26 points against North Florida. He has reached double figures in all seven games this season. He leads the team in scoring, averaging 17.0 points per game.
- The Orange snapped their two-game losing streak with a 77-71 win against North Florida, improving their record 5-2.
- Graduate student DaJuan Coleman scored a career-high 15 points against the Ospreys. It marked the second consecutive game that Coleman has reached double figures in scoring.
- Sophomore Frank Howard recorded his second double-double of the season with 10 points and career-high 13 assists.
- Connecticut is coming off a 51-49 win against Boston University, which improved its record to 3-4. The Huskies have had to employ five different starting lineups in the first seven games, in part due to injuries.
- Jalen Adams leads Connecticut in scoring, averaging 18.0 points per game. Rodney Purvis is also averaging double figures in scoring, adding 11.3 points per game. Double-digit scorers Terry Larrier and Alterique Gilbert have both been lost for the season with injuries.
- Kevin Ollie is in his fifth season as head coach at his alma mater. He has led the Huskies to a record of 100-48.
Connecticut is the fifth-most familiar foe in Syracuse program history. Monday's matchup will be the 93rd between the Orange and the Huskies. Syracuse owns a 55-37 advantage in the all-time series. The Orange won the most recent encounter, a 79-76 decision in the 2016 Battle 4 Atlantis.
