Orange record 17 wins for the ninth straight year
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Hitting the opening 3-point field goal on her first attempt, senior guard Brianna Butler propelled the No. 23 Syracuse University women's basketball team to an 83-62 victory against Atlantic Coast Conference foe Clemson on Thursday night at the Carrier Dome. The Orange dominated from start to finish, earning a critical conference win at home.
"Obviously you have to take care of your home court, and that's what we did tonight. We're just very happy to come and get the win," head coach Quentin Hillsman said. "We are just trying to string them along a little bit and get to 10. That's the number we're trying to get to – 10 conference wins."

Syracuse had four players score in double-figures. Butler paced the Orange with 17 points, knockind down five shots from behind the arc. Peterson contributed 15 points, while redshirt senior guard Maggie Morrison and Day notched 11 apiece.
The Orange will host its annual Celebration of Women Day on Sunday afternoon when the team takes on Georgia Tech. Anyone wearing pink, girl scouts, or clients of local women's businesses can receive a $5 ticket to the game. In addition, pink wristbands and cutouts of Hillsman's head on a stick will be given away.
Tickets can be purchased online, by phone at 1-888-DOMETIX, or by visiting the Carrier Dome box office (Gate B) during normal business hours.
