
Syracuse Opens Year Ranked #15 Nationally

Highest preseason rank under head coach Justin Moore
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse University women's rowing team opens the 2016 season ranked No. 15 nationally in the Preseason CRCA/US Rowing Coaches Poll. It marks the highest Syracuse has appeared in the preseason coaches' rankings under head coach Justin Moore.
Syracuse was one of four Atlantic Coast Conference teams ranked in the initial poll release. No. 4. Virginia, No. 17 Notre Dame, and No. 20 Louisville all appear in the top-20 of the coaches' rankings, while Duke also received votes.
The Orange is coming off a third-place showing at the conference championships in 2015. In addition, the squad was ranked No. 18 in the final coaches' poll, the highest ranking in a final poll since 2005.
Syracuse opens the year with a scrimmage at Cornell on Saturday, March 26.
