Freddie Crittenden III took fourth overall to earn First Team All-America honors in the 110-meter hurdles, highlighting the third and final day for the Orange at the NCAA Track and Field Championships.
Justyn Knight also took 10th in the 5,000-meters and Adam Palamar finished 12th in the 1500-meters to each earn Second Team All-America honors.
Crittenden ran through a strong head wind to finish his event in 13.70 seconds. Oregon's Devon Allen won the race in 13.50 seconds, with Crittenden just two-hundredths of a second from finishing inside the top-three.
The first team honors are a first for Crittenden on the outdoor track, as the junior collected second team accolades in 2015 and honorable mention in 2014.
The race concludes a strong junior campaign for the Utica, Michigan native, who was the NCAA runner-up in the 60-meter hurdles and claimed ACC Championships in both the indoor and outdoor seasons.
Knight was in the top-four until just two laps remained in a race that was taken out in 4:21 over the first mile. The pace slowed in the final laps until eventual champion Edward Cheserek from Oregon, Stanford's Sean McGorty and Villanova's Patrick Tiernan made a late move. Cheserek finished in 13:25.59 for the win, while Knight completed the event in 13:40.40.
Palamar suffered an unfortunate fall just over 500 meters into his 1500. He collided with another runner on the back stretch, sending him off the track and into the infield. He attempted to recover and chase down the leaders, finishing in 12th overall. He crossed the line in 4:03.90, with Akron's Clayton Murphy winning it all.
Colin Bennie previously earned Second Team All-America honors in the 10k on Wednesday, with Philo Germano, Margo Malone and Shaylyn Tuite claiming honorable mention honors for qualifying to nationals, to mark seven honorees for the Orange this season.
The events on Friday wrap up a historic year for head coach Chris Fox and the Syracuse cross country and track and field programs. It began with the men's cross country team winning its first NCAA Championship since 1951 in Louisville this fall, with the women's team completing their second-best finish in program history.
The Syracuse championship roster went undefeated on the season, winning their fourth-straight conference title and third-straight ACC crown this year as well, while also claiming the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship, Wisconsin Adidas Invite, and Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown titles. Knight, Bennie, Martin Hehir and Philo Germano would go on to win All-America honors and Fox was named USTFCCCA National Coach of the Year.
The success translated over to the track, with the Orange men winning their first ACC Indoor Track and Field Championship and first conference title since 1992. At the NCAA Championships, Crittenden was the runner-up in the 60-meter hurdles, while Knight joined him on the podium, taking third overall in the 3000-meters. Bennie and Palamar each earned First Team All-America honors as well at the indoor meet, with Shaina Harrison and Joel Hubbard receiving second team honors in their respective events. Just as he was in cross country, Fox was named ACC Coach of the Year.
The outdoor season was also a success, with the seven NCAA qualifiers marking the second-most in program history.
'Cuse wrapped up the meet with five total points, good for 47th overall.
