Sellers Places 4th at U.S. Junior Championships

Kadejhia Sellers raced to a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter dash at the U.S. Junior Track and Field Championships on Sunday, beating her previous personal best in the event in both the prelim and final.
The rising sophomore turned in a time of 53.54 seconds in the prelim, which served as the fifth-fastest qualifying time and bettered her place in the final, crossing the line fourth in 53.76 seconds.
The top-two performers from each event at the USATF Junior Championships qualify for the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland, with Sellers just 0.42 seconds off the mark to qualify.
Sellers' collegiate best time came at the Auburn War Eagle Invitational this season, racing to a time of 54.49 seconds during a third-place finish at the event this spring.
The Haledon, New Jersey native turned in an impressive freshman campaign that included breaking the indoor 200-meter dash school record this winter. She also scored at the ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships, placing fifth in the 60-meter dash.
