
Former Orange Help Long Island to Inaugural UWLX Title

BALTIMORE, Md. – Former Syracuse standouts Katie Rowan '09, Becca Block '13 and Halle Majorana '16 helped the Long Island Sound defeat the Boston Storm, 13-8, in the United Women's Lacrosse League's (UWLX) first-ever championship game on Sunday, July 31. The semifinals and finals were played at Homewood Field in Baltimore, culminating the league's inaugural season.

Rowan and Block each had a goal in the championship contest, which helped the Sound overcome a four-goal performance by Syracuse's all-time leader in that category, Kayla Treanor '16, for Boston. Treanor finished the regular season as the third-leading scorer in the league with 28 points on 19 goals and nine assists.

Overall, 11 former players represented Syracuse in the inaugural season of the four-team league.
