Five Named to U.S. Women's Lacrosse Team

SPARKS, Md. – The 2016-17 U.S. Women's Lacrosse team will have an Orange hue as five Syracuse All-Americans were among 36 players chosen to the squad after a three-day tryout at the US Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md. The Orange's five selections are the third-highest total for any school in the nation.

The group includes attack Alyssa Murray '14, Michelle Tumolo '13 and Kayla Treanor '16, defender Becca Block '13 and goalkeeper Liz Hogan '11. All five were members of the 2015-16 squad that recently completed a four-game tour in England.

The 36 players selected will train in preparation for the 2017 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) Women's World Cup in Guildford, England. Ultimately, 18 players will be selected to represent the U.S. as it goes for a third consecutive and eighth overall world title.
