SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The 2016 season rolls on for the Syracuse women's soccer team. The Orange travel to take on Cornell on Sunday, Sept. 4 at 1 p.m. in Ithaca, N.Y. for only the second road match of the season for Syracuse.
Â
The Orange (3-1-1) will look to rebound after the team's first setback of the season on Thursday to Bucknell. After a scoreless first half, Bucknell came out to score two goals within minutes of each other and although junior Eva Gordon answered with a goal of her own Syracuse could not recover. Gordon's goal was the second of the season for her.
Â
Cornell is 2-0-0 on the season and have a 10-0-3 unbeaten streak in non-conference matches dating back to Oct. 13, 2014. Cornell was undefeated through the first 11 games last season and was the last Division I women's team to concede a goal in 2015. Junior Paige DeLoach has scored two goals for Cornell this season and leads the team.
Â
"Cornell is a well-organized team and they have dangerous people up front," head coach Phil Wheddon said. "We just have to be better in every department."
Â
The game will be streamed online by the Ivy League Digital Network and live stats will be provided by Cornell.
