
Orange Drop 3-1 Decision to #7 Robert Morris

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse women's hockey team (9-11-5, 8-3-2 CHA) came up short, 3-1, against No. 7 Robert Morris (17-2-6, 10-1-2 CHA) on Friday night at Tennity Ice Pavilion.
A scoreless first period was even across the board with both teams recording eight shots on goal in the frame. The Colonials took the lead seven minutes into the second period and doubled their lead two minutes later.
Megan Quinn cut into the Robert Morris lead in the third period with a shot fired from just inside the blue line. It was her second goal of the season. The Orange pulled goaltender Abbey Miller in favor of six attacking players with less than two minutes left, but Robert Morris was able to capitalize and score an empty net goal.
Miller finished the game with 20 saves on the night. The Colonials' first goal ended Miller's scoreless streak at 178:17, the longest in Syracuse history.
Robert Morris came into the game with a two-point lead on Syracuse in College Hockey America standings. With the win, the Colonials now hold a four-point lead on the Orange.
The two teams will face off again on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Tennity Ice Pavilion.
