SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse returns home for its second game of the 2017-18 season against Iona on Tuesday, Nov. 14 in the Carrier Dome. Opening tip-off is set for 7 p.m.

For Starters

Syracuse defeated Cornell, 77-45, on Friday night to improve its record to 38-4 in season openers under the direction of head coach Jim Boeheim. The win gave the Orange their 14^th straight, season-opening victory.
This will mark the fifth meeting between Syracuse and Iona. The Orange hold a 4-0 series advantage and came away with an 83-77 victory when the two sides last met on Dec. 18, 2010.
This is the second of six straight home games that Syracuse will play in the Carrier Dome to open the 2017-18 season.

Recapping The Season Opener

Sophomore Tyus Battle scored a game-high 18 points to lead the Orange in their season-opening victory against Cornell. He was 6-of-14 from the field.
Freshman Oshae Brissett tallied 11 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double in his Syracuse debut.
Orange newcomers Brissett, Matthew Moyer, Geno Thorpe, Marek Dolezaj and Bourama Sidibe accounted for 42 of the 77 Syracuse points.

Scouting The Gaels

Iona started the season with a 69-67 loss at Albany on Friday, Nov. 10. TK Edogi led the Gaels with 17 points and nine rebounds, while Deyshonee Much added 15 points.
Last season, Iona won the MAAC title and made its second-straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
The Gaels were tabbed the 2017 MAAC Men's Basketball Preseason favorite, based on a vote by the league's 11 head coaches.
Tim Cluess is in his eighth season at the helm of the Iona program. The Gaels have won at least 20 games in each of his first seven seasons in charge.

Syracuse is back in action in the Carrier Dome on Saturday, Nov. 18 when it hosts Texas Southern at 7 p.m.
