Syracuse Hosts Buffalo, Brown at Drumlins

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse women's tennis team will play the first home matches of the season this weekend at Drumlins Country Club. The Orange will take on Buffalo on Saturday and Brown on Sunday. Both matches have an 11 a.m. start time.
The Orange (1-4, 0-1 ACC) are coming off a loss to ACC opponent Virginia. Freshman Miranda Ramirez earned her third win of the season with a win at the No. 3 spot. Graduate student Anna Shkudun and sophomore Maria Tritou won at the No. 2 doubles spot.
Scouting the Bulls
Buffalo comes into the match with a 2-1 record. The Bulls earned wins against St. Bonaventure and Detroit Mercy earlier in the season. Last weekend the team lost 4-3 to West Virginia in a match that was determined by a third-set tiebreaker.
Scouting the Bears
The Bears have earned a 2-1 record with wins over the Rhode Island and Massachusetts. The team lost 0-4 to Miami in late January. Last weekend at the ECAC Women's Indoor Championship, Brown finished in second place. On Sunday, the team beat Harvard and the No. 45 ranked doubles team of Dayna Lord and Alyza Benotto won its fifth straight match of the season.
