
Orange Look to Defend their ACC Title

The Syracuse men's cross country team is looking to go back-to-back at the ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships, below is an event-by-event breakdown of the meet.
Women's 60m
-Â Kadejhia Sellers who owns the fifth-fastest time in the league to date in the event, will stick to the 200 and 400 meters, so freshman Justice Richardson and junior Victoria Parker will be the lone 'Cuse competitors in the 60-meter dash.
-Â Clemson has a trio of runners in the top-four, led by top seed Torie Robinson (7.27).
Men's 60m
-Â Winston Lee is the top Orange seed in the 60m event, ranking 4th with a time of 6.68, just .09 behind first place rank Darryl Haraway from Florida State.Â
Women's 60H
-Â Tia Thevenin, who has twice broken the school record in the event thus far in 2017, is the Orange's best chance in the 60-meter hurdles.
- She owns the third-fastest time in the conference and currently sits just outside of an NCAA Championships qualifying spot in the event at 8.21 seconds.
-Â Miami's Ebony Morrison leads the way with a time of 8.13 seconds in the event.
- Thevenin will be joined by Danielle Delgado (8.39) in the event.
Men's 60H
- Freddie Crittenden III is the heavy favorite in the event, with a mark of 7.67 seconds that is .18 seconds faster than the next-closest competitor.
-Â David Gilstrap (7.87 seconds) enters ranked fourth, with Chevis Armstead (8.06 seconds) and Richard Floyd (8.12 seconds) ranked eighth and 10th, respectively.
Women's 200m
-Â Sellers is tied for fourth entering the event with a time of 23.66. Parker (24.87) and Dasia Pressley (24.76) will also compete for SU.
-Â Sellers already set the school record (23.66) in the event this season.
-Â Shakima Wimbley of Miami (23.19) is the top seed in the conference.
Men's 200m
- Kashif Miller will represent 'Cuse in the 200-meter dash and will be the lone Orange competitor in that field.
Women's 400m
-Â Arguably Sellers' best event, she enters as the third-fastest seed in the 400 meters, at 53.99
-Â Wimbley is also the top-seed in the 400 as well (51.28)
-Â Cheyenne Trigg will also suit up for 'Cuse in the event, with a qualifying time of 57.58 seconds
Men's 800m
-Â Paul Lovell (1:51.83) will take on the 800-meters. His time is good for 14th in the conference this season.
-Â Wake Forest's Robert Heppenstall is the fastest so far, with a time of 1:47.63Â
Women's Mile
-Â The Orange will turn in a deep field in the mile, with McKenzie Altmayer, Sydney Leiher and Rachel Bonner all set to compete.
-Â Leiher has the top mile time among those runners to date, with her 4:48.02 good for 13th in the conference.
Men's Mile
-Â Adam Palamar enters as the favorite based on time in what'll surely be a competitive mile.
-Â Palamar has the league's fastest time of 3:57.39, with teammate Joel Hubbard Virginia Tech's Neil Gourley both going sub-four so far this season as well. However, waiting in the wings is defending NCAA Champion Henry Wynne, who holds the league's fifth-fastest time of 4:00.49 this season.
-Â Aidan Tooker will also race for SU. He has the sixth-best mark on the season at 4:02.77. Justyn Knight also has a sub-four mile on the year, making four Orange hold some of the league's top-six times, but Knight will not race in the mile this weekend.
Women's 3000
-Â Paige Stoner leads the way in the 3k, with her seed time of 9:15.80 good for third in the conference. NC State's Rachel Koon (9:05.32) has the best time heading into the meet.
-Â Freshman Madeleine Davison (9:41.73) will also compete in the event for 'Cuse.
Men's 3000
-Â It's all Syracuse at the top of the men's 3000-meters.
-Â Led by Knight, the Orange holds four of the top-five times in the event this season, including the top three. Knight (7:47.82), Iliass Aouani (7:57.67), Colin Bennie (7:58.15) and Palamar (8:01.87) lead the way in the 3000-meters for SU, looking to be one of the largest point grabs as the team looks to defend its title.
-Â Other potential scorers include Adam Visokay (8:11.21) and Joe Dragon (8:13.28).
Women's 5000
- Stoner (16:12.40), owns the fifth-fastest time in the conference this season, but she'll be joined by Chelsie Pennello (17:50.04) in the event at the ACC Championships.
Men's 5000
- Five members of the Orange will also take on the 5000-meters, with Bennie (13:51.93) holding the top seed time among the Orange, good for second overall. Virginia's Zach Herriott (13:45.37( has the best time in the conference thus far.
- Joining Bennie will be defending champion Knight, Visokay, Aouani, Dragon and Kevin James.Â
Women's 4x400
- Ebhani Blackwood, Thevenin, Delgado and Sellers will be the Orange's representation in the 4x400 meters. Their seed time of 3:43.67 ranks eighth in the conference.
Men's Relays
- Pascal Bastein, Lovell, Crittenden and Hubbard will be in the 4x00 for the Syracuse men to close out the meet.
- Bastein, Lovell, Hubbard and Palamar will open the weekend in the DMR, an event the Orange took second in last season at the ACC Championships.
Women's Jumps
- In the triple jump, Ebhani Blackwood comes in as a potential favorite, with her qualifying mark of 12.72 meters serving as the second-best mark in the conference. Iana Amsterdam (12.97 meters) of Clemson is just ahead of her.
- Regine Hunter could also score in the event, ranked 19th heading in at 11.94 meters.
- Aviana Goode is the 15th-seed in the high jump, with a mark of 1.65 meters entering the weekend.
- Goode will also compete in the long jump.
Men's Jumps
- Randall Johnson has the 11th-best mark to date in the high jump, having cleared 2.01 meters so far this season.
- He'll also compete in the long jump with his mark set at 7.03 meters, which is good for 13th in seeding.
- Bastein will join Johnson in the long jump as well.
Action gets underway on Thursday night with the DMRs.
