Syracuse coasts to a 85-64 victory against Wake Forest
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The No. 20/21 Syracuse women's basketball team defeated Wake Forest, 85-64, on Senior Night in the Carrier Dome on Thursday. With its victory against the Demon Deacons, Syracuse has recorded at least 10 conference victories in each of the past five seasons.
HOW IT WAS DECIDED
With the game tied at five points apiece, the Orange (19-9) used a 12-0 run in the first period to take a 17-5 advantage. Syracuse would not trail for the rest of the game and cruised to a 21-point win against Wake Forest (15-13).
In its final regular-season home contest of the year, 68 of the team's 85 points were scored by seniors. Guard Alexis Peterson (25 points), guard Brittney Sykes (16 points), center Briana Day (17 points), guard Isabella Slim (8 points), and center Bria Day (2 points) all got in the scoring column on Thursday night.

"The goal was to get the 10th win. It was a big night for us to get number 10. At the end of the day, we want to send our seniors out with a win at home and we did that. Overall, just happy with winning the basketball game."
OF NOTE
For the seventh straight game, Briana Day, Peterson, and Sykes have all scored in double-figures. It also marked the second consecutive game that freshman guard Gabby Cooper joined the senior trio with at least 10 points.
Briana Day secured her eighth double-double of the season by the end of the first half and ended the game with 17 points and 15 rebounds.
Cooper has tallied 10 three-point field goals combined in the last two contests.
