Four score in double digits in conference win
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The No. 24/21 Syracuse women's basketball notched its fourth straight victory, a 72-45 decision at Boston College on Sunday afternoon. With the win, Syracuse has recorded at least 17 victories for the 10th straight season.
HOW IT WAS DECIDED
It was all Syracuse (17-7) from the start at Boston College (8-16). The team recorded the first 10 points of the conference matchup and never looked back. The Eagles twice got within 10 points, an eight-point and nine-point deficit, but that would be the closest it would get.
For the third consecutive game, the Orange were led by senior center Briana Day, senior guard Alexis Peterson, and redshirt senior guard Brittney Sykes. Each player tallied at least 10 points for the third straight contest and combined for 55 points.
Q'S TAKE
"That was the key for this game. They (Boston College) are a really good shooting team. We wanted to be aggressive on the offensive end and limit their 3-point attempts and makes. I thought we did that today."
OF NOTE
Sykes moved into fourth place on the program's all-time scoring list on Sunday afternoon at Boston College. She has scored 1,673 points in her collegiate career. The redshirt senior guard tallied 18 points on the road.
Peterson has tallied at least 10 points in each of the past 44 games. The Columbus, Ohio product finished with a team-high 26 points on the day. She also recorded a career-best eight rebounds, eight assists, and six steals.
Day notched her third straight double-double in as many games, her sixth of the 2016-17 campaign. The Raleigh, N.C. native registered 11 points and 11 rebounds against the Eagles.
