The Syracuse men's track and field team went two-for-two in seeing its athletes qualify for the final of their respective events at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday.
Freddie Crittenden III (60-meter hurdles) and Adam Palamar (mile) will both move onto Saturday's final where they'll join Justyn Knight, who's racing in the 3000-meters, in search of an NCAA Championship.
Â
With his lean at the line, Palamar crossed the line in 4:00.71 to finish third in his heat. The top-four in each heat automatically advance to the finals along with the next two fastest times from the two heats combined. Palamar was 0.02 seconds ahead of the fifth-place finisher in his heat to secure his spot.
Crittenden III had the same qualifying margin, despite his race only being 60-meters long. He finished in a time of 7.70 seconds, just 0.06 off Florida's Grant Holloway, who had the fastest prelim time.
Palamar will kick off the Orange trio's action on Friday, with his race at 5:10 eastern. Crittenden III will race at 6:10 eastern in the 60-hurdles and Knight takes on the 3000-meters at 7:10 eastern. All the action will be live on ESPN3.
