'Cuse, Louisville square off at OCC
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Orange (17-9, 3-3 ACC) open up the 2017 home slate with a three-game series against Louisville (18-8, 3-0 ACC) on Friday, March 24 and Saturday, March 25 at Onondaga Community College. Live stats will be available for all three games.
Syracuse is coming off a 5-3 showing in its eight-game spring break road stand, most recently earning a series victory over Georgia Tech in Atlanta.
The Orange and the Cardinals meet for the 29th, 30th and 31st time this weekend, as Syracuse looks for its first win over UL since claiming a 4-0 victory in Louisville last season. The pair faced off four times last season, as Louisville claimed the regular season series, 2-1, before the Orange fell to the Cardinals, 1-0, in the first round of the ACC tournament.
Louisville finished 2016 with a 35-17 record. The Cardinals fell to Notre Dame, 4-2, after defeating the Orange in the league tournament. UL advanced to the Columbia regional of the NCAA Tournament, but fell in back-to-back games to Nebraska (3-2) and BYU (6-4). This season, the Cardinals are a perfect 3-0 in league play, as UL swept Pittsburgh in Louisville, 3-0.
