Syracuse takes on No. 10 Wisconsin on Sunday, April 8
PRINCETON, N.J. – The Syracuse men's rowing first varsity eight crew is ranked No. 15 in the country in the first USRowing Coaches Poll of the 2017 season, as announced on Thursday. Syracuse has appeared in the top 20 of the coaches' rankings in each of the past 89 poll releases.
The Orange are one of 14 Eastern Association of Rowing Colleges (EARC) programs ranked in the top 20 of the first coaches' rankings, joining No. 2 Yale, No. 4 Harvard, No. 5 Princeton, No. 6 Boston University, No. 7 Brown, No. 8 Dartmouth, No. 9 Northeastern, No. 10 Wisconsin, No. 12 Cornell, No. 13 Navy, No. 14 Columbia, No. 16 Pennsylvania, and No. 17 George Washington. Georgetown also received votes in the initial poll.
Syracuse opens its 2017 campaign on Saturday, April 8 against No. 10 Wisconsin in Skokie, Ill. Last year, the first varsity eight boat claimed a victory against the Badgers, its first of four wins against nationally ranked crews.
