#18 Women's Rowing Opens Season on Sunday

Syracuse will compete in the Doc Hosea Invite on Sunday
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The No. 18 Syracuse women's rowing team will open its 2017 campaign on Sunday morning at the Doc Hosea Invite on the Cooper River in Camden, N.J. Racing will begin at 8 a.m.
Syracuse will compete against regional foes Boston University, Dartmouth, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Navy, Northeastern, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Rutgers in its season opener on Sunday. The Orange are the top ranked team in the Doc Hosea Invite field, while Northeastern and Pennsylvania each received votes in the latest USRowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Poll.
The Kittel Cup and Orange Challenge Cup are both on the line when Syracuse takes on Boston University and Pennsylvania, respectively, in the first varsity eight competition.
The Orange are coming off a 13th-place showing at the 2016 NCAA Championship. Seniors Ashley Johnson, Shannon McCann, Saydee McQuay, and Harriet Taylor and sophomores Rachael Caldwell and Arianna Lee all held seats in the first varsity eight crew that placed 12th at the national championship regatta.
