Syracuse opens the season on Saturday at Cornell
PRINCETON, N.J. – The Syracuse men's rowing first varsity eight is ranked No. 17 nationally in the latest USRowing Collegiate Poll. Syracuse has appeared in the top 20 of the coaches' rankings in each of the past 90 poll releases.
The Orange are one of 14 Eastern Association of Rowing Colleges (EARC) programs ranked in the top 20 of the coaches' poll, joining No. 3 Yale, No. 4 Princeton, No. 5 Boston University, No. 6 Harvard, No. 7 Northeastern, No. 8 Dartmouth, No. 9 Brown, No. 11 Wisconsin, No. 12 Cornell, No. 13 George Washington, No. 14 Pennsylvania, No. 15 Columbia, and No. 16 Navy. Georgetown is also receiving votes in the latest rankings release.
Syracuse will open its 2017 campaign on Saturday morning when it takes on No. 12 Cornell and No. 16 Navy for the Goes Trophy in Ithaca, N.Y. Cornell has won the annual race each of the past three years. The Orange are looking to bring the trophy home for the first time since 2011.
