Goldstock Named Inside Lacrosse Player and Rookie of the Week
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse freshmen Asa Goldstock and Emily Hawryschuk have been honored for their performances in the Orange's upset of No. 2 North Carolina last Saturday. Goldstock is this week's Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Defensive Player of the Week, while Hawryschuk is the league's Offensive Player of the Week. In addition, Goldstock earned both the Player and Rookie of the Week honors from Inside Lacrosse.

Goldstock, a communications and rhetorical studies major, recorded 12 saves against the Tar Heels, holding North Carolina four goals below its season average. After the Tar Heels tied the score at 7-7, she recorded four saves and two caused turnovers during the final 23:03 as Syracuse recorded the 13-11 victory, snapping the Tar Heels' 18-game winning streak against conference opponents.

Hawryschuk, who is majoring in finance, led the Orange offense against North Carolina with four goals. Two of those goals came during Syracuse's 6-1 scoring run in the second half that gave the Orange their largest lead of the day. It marked the seventh time Hawryschuk has scored three or more goals in a game this season. She has 12 goals in her last three games and has taken over the team lead in that category with 31 this season.

The No. 7/8 Orange host No. 12/1 Cornell tonight at 7 p.m. in the Carrier Dome in their final regular-season home game. Syracuse travels to Louisville on Saturday, April 22 to face the Cardinals at 1 p.m. in the regular-season finale.
