
First Varsity Eight Named Top Seed

Syracuse ranks No. 13 in the country heading into the postseason
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Syracuse women's rowing first varsity eight boat earned the top seed at the 2017 Atlantic Coast Conference Championship, the league announced on Wednesday afternoon. It marks the first time a Syracuse crew has been named the first seed heading into an ACC Championship.
The Orange third varsity eight boat collected the second seed for its respective competition. The second varsity eight, first varsity four, and second varsity four crews earned the fourth, fifth, and sixth seeds, respectively.
Preliminaries for the ACC Championship begin on Sunday, May 14 at 8:05 a.m. The finals will commence at 5:35 p.m. on Lake Hartwell in Clemson, S.C.
Syracuse ranks No. 13 nationally in the latest release of the USRowing/CRCA Poll, its highest in-season ranking since the 2003 campaign. The Orange first varsity eight boat has been named the ACC Crew of the Week three times during the 2017 season, as well.
