Jacquie Greco (’13) renews contract with the Buffalo Beauts for 2017-18 season
BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Former Syracuse ice hockey defenseman Jacquie Greco re-signed with the NWHL's Isobel Cup champion Buffalo Beauts for the 2017-18 season, as announced by the league on Monday.
Greco saw action in 15 of the Beauts 17 regular season games last year, notching a goal, an assist and eight blocked shots in her first season in the league. While playing for the Beauts, the Buffalo native also serves as a marketing manager for Pegula Sports and Entertainment, owners of the Buffalo Sabres and the Buffalo Bills.
"I couldn't be happier to be back in Buffalo playing for my hometown team," said Greco. "The support from our fans is unbelievable and I look forward to defending the Cup with a new set of players and my teammates from last year. I already felt the energy from the new players back at our camp in June and I can't wait to get started with this group."
A 2013 graduate of Syracuse, Greco played in 124 games for the Orange and served as a tri-captain during her senior season. She ranks ninth in program history for career points by a defenseman with 21 and second in career goals by a defenseman with 12. Greco helped her team to three CHA Title games including an appearance in the Finals during her senior year.
While at 'Cuse, Greco studied hospitality administration and management and earned a Master of Arts from Syracuse in Television, Radio and Film. She was a two-time CHA All-Academic Team honoree and received the Chancellor's Award for Public Engagement and Scholarship as a senior.
