Syracuse sprints alum Flings Owusu-Agyapong placed 10th with Ghana's 4x100-meter relay team at the World Championships in London on Saturday.
The 2016 Olympian and flag bearer for her nation at the Rio de Janiero games, Owusu-Agyapong ran the first leg of the relay, helping her team to a mark of 43.68 seconds. The mark was a season best for Ghana, with the United States taking gold in a world-leading time of 41.84 seconds.
Owusu-Agyapong has spent time on the Orange coaching staff as a volunteer assistant after her stellar collegiate career ended upon graduation in 2012. She is the Orange record holder in the 100-meter dash and was a 2012 Soladay Award nominee at the 'Cuse Awards, considered to be the top honor a Syracuse student-athlete can receive.

Owusu-Agyapong took silver at the 2012 BIG EAST Outdor Championship after earning USTFCCCA Second Team All-American honors in the 60-meter dash during the 2012 indoor campaign. She also earned Honorable Mention All-America honors as a junior in the 100 in 2011.
Current SU track star Justyn Knight will race later on Saturday in the 5000-meter final.
