Redshirt sophomore Lindsay Eastwood spoke with the 2017-18 incoming freshman class to get all the insight on their likes/dislikes and the upcoming season. Here is her Freshman Feature:
Ronnie Callahan, or Ron, Ron Jon, Ron Ron (the list goes on) to her friends, will suit up for the Orange as a forward for the 2017-18 campaign.
Â
Ronnie is a South Windsor, Connecticut native, formerly playing at Cushing Academy and for the East Coast Wizards. Years ago, Ronnie was watching a pick-up game of hockey and it sparked her interest in the game. Next thing you know, she's living out her dream of playing college hockey.
Â
The forward's favorite player is Brad Marchand of the Boston Bruins, but she would love to have dinner with former Bruin great, Bobby Orr because she claims that he is a "savage".
Â
To prepare for games, Ronnie likes to eat chicken with veggies and lots of fruit to get her going. She generally likes to listen to rap to get fired up before games.
Â
Everything fell into place for Ron when she came to visit Syracuse. She could really picture herself on campus, which ultimately drove her to choose 'Cuse. She is looking forward to meeting new people and winning a championship.
Â
Ronnie was once told to "be thankful for all of the tough moments in your life because they shape who you are and they make you appreciate the good things in life".
Â
We can't wait to see you on the ice, Ronnie!
