Syracuse looking for its third straight trip to the NCAA Championship
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Head coach Justin Moore announced the 2017-18 Syracuse women's rowing slate on Monday afternoon. Syracuse is coming off consecutive 13th-place performances at the NCAA Championship.
The Orange will participate in three events in the fall, highlighted by the Head of the Charles from Saturday, Oct. 21 – Sunday, Oct. 22. Last season, Syracuse finished in 17th place in the championship eight event at the world's largest two-day regatta.
In the spring, the team will kick off its regular season at the Doc Hosea Invite on the Cooper River in Camden, N.J. on Saturday, March 31. The Orange won the inaugural Doc Hosea Invite Trophy in 2017, earning victories in the first, second, and third varsity eight competitions.
Syracuse will head to the Clemson Invite on Lake Hartwell in Clemson, S.C. from Saturday, April 14 – Sunday, April 15. The Orange finished in sixth place in the team competition at last year's regatta, propelled by a fourth-place showing by the first varsity eight crew.
In its final race of the regular season, Syracuse will compete against Princeton and Wisconsin on Lake Carnegie in Princeton, N.J. on Saturday, April 28.
Postseason competition will begin at the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship on Lake Hartwell in Clemson, S.C. on Sunday, May 13. The Orange are looking to earn their third straight trip to the NCAA Championship, which will be held at Benderson Park in Sarasota, Fla. from Friday, May 25 – Sunday, May 27.
